# Getting Started

Muzzle Run: A Diverse Play-to-Earn Blockchain Sports Platform

Welcome to Muzzle Run, an innovative multi-sport platform leveraging the power of blockchain technology on the Polygon Network. Our journey began in 2022 with a groundbreaking launch of the first 3D Greyhound racing game, pioneering the use of NFTs in digital sports gaming. This exciting venture allowed players to own, train, and race in their very own NFT Greyhound kennel.

Expanding our horizons, we introduced Whippets to the mix, further diversifying the gaming experience. In November 2023, Muzzle Run took a significant leap forward, evolving into a multi-sport platform with the exciting announcement of our football (soccer) game. Each sport within the Muzzle Run universe offers a unique play-to-earn experience, bringing together gaming enthusiasts and blockchain technology in an unprecedented way.

These docs will guide you through the different gameplay options. If you have any questions you can contact our support team by emailing [**comms@muzzle.run**](mailto:comms@muzzle.run) or join the official Discord by [**clicking here**](https://discord.gg/Ym84JwqJmf)**.**

### Prerequisites

* Sign up for an account at [**muzzle.run**](https://muzzle.run) and choose a kennel name. As Greyhound racing was our breakthrough game, all accounts start off with a racing kennel.
* Install [**Metamask**](https://metamask.io/) and add the [**Polygon network**](https://docs.polygon.technology/docs/develop/metamask/config-polygon-on-metamask/)
* Add hounds to your kennel by minting a Breeder which you can then use to breed a Racer or purchase a hound on the secondary market [**OpenSea**](https://opensea.io/collection/muzzle-run)

# Metamask Wallet

POLYGON (POL) is the native token of the Polygon Network and is used as the in game currency for Muzzle Run. You will need POL in your MetaMask wallet in order to mint, train, breed and race. The easiest way to add POL to your wallet is by following the guide directly inside the Metamask app.

1. Open MetaMask and make sure you are on the [**Polygon network**](https://docs.polygon.technology/docs/develop/metamask/config-polygon-on-metamask/)
2. Click Buy and then select from the available funding options

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FQtVazxNCcaNfASVIJr7A%2Fmetamask-deposit.png?alt=media&amp;token=3dd08bbd-3a14-4b77-984c-23c138c7662d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Sometimes you may encounter a connection issue within the Muzzle Run platform. This can often be fixed by changing your RPC from within your metamask wallet. There are two ways you can make these changes both these options can be done from the desktop version and iOS/android apps.\
\
&#x20; 1\. You can head to <https://chainlist.org/> from your metamask browser and connect your Metamask wallet to the site (Muzzle Run always recommends that you test unknown sites with a separate wallet to your main wallet for security reasons.)&#x20;

2. Now that your wallet is connected you can either search Polygon Mainnet in the search bar or scroll down to the network you wish to add and press on Add To Metamask.
3. Your Metamask wallet will pop up with a notification asking you to Allow This Site to Add a Network? You may see a couple of security warnings at the bottom of this notification. Metamask does this for increased security. The reason they pop up is that Chainlist adds the network to your Metamask wallet but does not replace the original one. That way you don't lose what you initially had.
4. Click on approve and Metamask will ask you if you to Allow The Site to Switch to This Network? Click on Switch Network.

Now head back to the Muzzle Run platform and perform the action that was unsuccessful previously and hopefully, it will be successful. If you are still finding an error you can head to our Discord and message us through Bug-Reports or create a support ticket.<br>

# Overview

In early January 2024 $FROTH will become the primary currency for all race, sit & go and tournament entry fees and prizes in the Muzzle Run ecosystem. All future games added to the Muzzle Run ecosystem will also use $FROTH for all game activities including minting, training, and entry fees.

### A Finite Supply of 1 Billion $FROTH Tokens

$FROTH sets a fixed upper limit of 1 billion tokens, ensuring a controlled supply and fostering scarcity. This cap is designed to prevent inflationary pressures and maintain the token's value over time, providing a stable and predictable ecosystem for users and investors.

### Essential Utility in Gaming and NFT Minting

The utility of $FROTH is a cornerstone of its value, as it is integral for participating in races and minting NFTs in our new games. This utility-driven approach ensures that $FROTH is not just a speculative asset but a crucial component of our gaming ecosystem, driving demand and enhancing the engagement and experience of players.

### Matic Reserves to Back $FROTH Circulation

During the Initial Coin Offering, we prioritize the security of investments by maintaining Matic reserves equivalent to the amount of $FROTH in circulation. Priced at 0.01 Matic per $FROTH, this strategy is aimed at reinforcing investor confidence by ensuring robust backing for the token, thereby stabilizing its value and safeguarding investments prior to exchange listings.

### $FROTH on Uniswap V3 for Enhanced Trading Experience

$FROTH will debut on Uniswap V3, a leading decentralized exchange, to provide our users with seamless token swapping capabilities on 5 January 2025. This integration ensures transparent and efficient liquidity management, facilitating easy and secure trading experiences. The presence on Uniswap V3 not only underscores our commitment to decentralized finance principles but also provides our users with a trusted and user-friendly platform for managing their $FROTH assets.

### ERC20 Standard

Our smart contract is based on the ERC20 standard, incorporating OpenZeppelin's recommended functionalities and best practices. This ensures the contract aligns with high standards of security and compatibility inherent in OpenZeppelin's frameworks, while maintaining the core features of the ERC20 protocol. The contract is verified and can be publicly accessed for review on Polygonscan.

**Purpose of Burn Mechanism:** We have incorporated a burn function into the $FROTH token contract as a measure to manage supply and potentially enhance the token's value over time. The decision to burn tokens will be considered under specific circumstances such as:

* **Excess Supply:** If there's an oversupply in the market affecting the token's value negatively.
* **Promotional Events:** As part of special events or milestones to incentivize engagement and participation within the Muzzle Run ecosystem.
* **Economic Stability:** To ensure the long-term stability and health of the token's economy, especially in response to market dynamics.

This strategic approach to token burning is designed to align with the overall health and growth of the Muzzle Run platform, ensuring a robust economic model.

**Adaptive Release Strategy:** The release schedules for the entire $FROTH supply are not set in stone. We plan to adjust these schedules dynamically in response to the growth and size of our user base. This approach ensures that token distribution remains aligned with user engagement and the evolving needs of the Muzzle Run ecosystem.

This adaptive strategy aims to maintain the token's value and relevance while supporting the ongoing expansion and health of the platform.

#### Community-Driven Adjustments:

**Responsive Allocation Strategy:** We acknowledge the importance of community input in shaping the Muzzle Run ecosystem. Therefore, we are open to adjusting token allocations based on constructive community feedback and engagement. This approach underscores our commitment to building a platform that resonates with our users' needs and evolves alongside the community's aspirations.

Our goal is to foster a transparent, responsive, and community-focused environment, ensuring that Muzzle Run continues to thrive as a collaborative and innovative gaming platform.

# Muzzle Run Racing 🏁

**The Cornerstone of the Muzzle Run Sports Platform**

Web 3 racing forms the core of the Muzzle Run experience. In this section, we'll guide you through the essentials of starting and managing your own kennel. You'll learn everything necessary to master the game, from the basics to advancing through the classes and competing for the most prestigious prizes. This comprehensive guide is your first step towards becoming a top contender in the exhilarating world of Muzzle Run sports.

# NFT Types

There are currently three types of NFTs available to use inside Muzzle Run Racing.

**Breeders**

Breeders are a collection of hounds that allow you to breed (mint) new Racers. There is a finite number of 10,000 Breeders that will ever be available for circulation. There are 107 variations to collect and are distributed randomly based on a rarity percentage. For more information on the benefits of owning a Breeder see [**Breeders Mint**](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/breeders-mint)

**Racers**

Racers are a collection of hounds that allow you to train and race to earn Froth and Matic. There is an uncapped supply but it can only enter the ecosystem by being bred by an owner of a Breeder. There are 1424 variations to collect and are distributed randomly based on a rarity percentage.\
\
**Whippets**

Whippets are a collection of hounds that allow you to train and race to earn Froth and Matic. There is an uncapped supply but it can only enter the ecosystem by being bred by an owner of a Breeder. There are 31 variations to collect and are distributed randomly based on a rarity percentage. Each Breeder has a limit of two whippet breeds per month.&#x20;

**Rabbits**

Rabbits are a small collection of 10 NFT variations with a different utility inside Muzzle Run. A Rabbit can only be used once during a paid race or tournament and is then burnt.\* Rabbits are not burnt during free racing.

* Gold Rabbits allow you to burn them for 40 utility credits.
* Silver Rabbits allow you to burn them for 10 utility credits.
* Bronze Rabbits allow you to burn them for 1 utility credit.
* All Rabbits also have secret abilities that will help your hound during a Race. Discovering what ability a type of rabbit has and the effect on your hound is a discovery process and one of the layers of skill that will separate winning players from the rest of the pack.

**Rabbit Secret Abilities**

Rabbits each have a distance preference that changes depending on the hound in which they are played. Effectively when played on a Racer a Rabbit adds a distance preference to that hound for the race in which it is played.&#x20;

For example, if you have a Racer with a sprinting distance preference, it can run a Marathon (or any other distance) as if that was its distance preference provided you played the correct Rabbit in that race. This is particularly useful in tournaments where you can't choose your race distance.

In addition, every time you play a Rabbit, regardless of the race distance you will receive a speed boost. A Rabbit will only improve the likelihood that a hound will run a faster race, there is no negative effect.

Rabbits are caught (minted) by players every time they complete a training session and are distributed randomly according to a rarity percentage.\
\
**Rabbit Facts**

* Rabbits distance preference are funnel-based (Sprint, Mid, Stayer, Marathon), not individual distances
* Every Rabbits distance preference is independent of another. This means that a hound may have multiple rabbits targeting the same distance funnel
* There is no guarantee that your hound has a rabbit targeting every distance funnel

\*Burnt means the NFT is sent to a null address on the blockchain deeming it unusable by anyone and non recoverable.

# Breeders Mint

### About Breeders

A Breeder is a type of NFT that allows you to breed new Racers by paying a breeding fee. Breeders cannot race in normal races, but owning one comes with more earning opportunities and unique utility. There are 107 variations to collect and a total of 10,000 are available for circulation ever.

### Mint a Breeder

1. Visit the [**Breeders Mint**](https://app.muzzle.run/breeders-mint) tab from the left-hand navigation menu
2. Make sure [**Metamask**](https://metamask.io/) is installed and configured to point to the [**Polygon network**](https://docs.polygon.technology/docs/develop/metamask/config-polygon-on-metamask/)
3. Make sure you have at least 101 POL in your wallet to cover the mint fee and gas.
4. Click "BUY A PACK NOW"
5. Accept the MetaMask prompt
6. Wait for confirmation of your brand-new sealed Breeder.

**Note** It can take up to 1 minute for your new Breeder to be minted. Once minted it can take up to 2 minutes to show in your kennel. The identity and rarity of your Breeder will be hidden until you open the pack which can be done from inside your kennel.

### Breeder Benefits

* **Breed:** The only way Greyhound Racers and Whippets can enter the Muzzle Run ecosystem is by an owner of a Breeder minting a new Racer. By owning a Breeder you can mint new Racers (of any rarity) for your kennel or to sell on the secondary market. For more information see [**Breeding**](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/breeding)**.**
* **Breeder Only Tournaments:** At Muzzle Run we run several free Sit & Gos every month exclusive to owners of Breeders awarding Froth. A few times throughout the year we run main event tournaments exclusive to Breeder Owners awarding thousands of Matic or Froth per event. Each month we run a tournament exclusive to our "Final Breeders" and they run for a percentage of App revenue which is paid out in Froth.
* **Breeder Utility:** Breeders have a different utility depending on when they were minted and can be identified with unique collars and utility stamps on the view hound page.

# Reward Breeders

First 1,500 Minted

10% of all app revenue generated by training, breeding and Breeder mints are distributed to every Breeder that was part of the first 1,500 minted. The owner snapshot is taken on the first of every month at 10 AM NZT and rewards are sent shortly after. This is passive income deposited into your registered wallet just for holding your Breeder.&#x20;

*Note: all 1,500 Breeders eligible for the reward have now been minted. If you purchase a Breeder on the secondary market that was one of the original 1,500 minted you will still be eligible for the reward. You can see whether a Breeder qualifies for Breeder Rewards by viewing the card on Muzzle Run and looking for the "Eligible For Breeder Rewards" flag under the name as per the image below.*

### Power Up Breeder Facts

* You can activate your Power Up from inside your kennel once a month and the speed boost will run for 3 consecutive days.
* While boosted, hounds will run fully speed boosted in races where boosts are available

***Note:** In order for the speed boost to apply the race must run while your kennel boost is activated. Your speed boost is not activated at registration time, but rather race start time.*

***Note:** Unlike the speed boosts from temporary training, this is determined at registration time. Any registrations during your Power Up period will not burn rabbits, regardless of when the race is scheduled to jump.*

* Your Breeder must stay in your kennel for at least 30 days for the Power-up to be effective (unless you are the first receiver/minter).&#x20;
* Your Racers and Whippets must stay in your kennel for at least 30 days for the power-up (speed boost) to be effective (Unless you were the original opener of the hound)

***Note:** You can see how long your hounds have been in your kennel from the My Kennel tab under the hound name. If the time is not stated then the hound will still be eligible.*

### FAQs

**Q: When my Power Up is activated, do I still need to toggle on "Apply Boosts" in the registration lobby?**\
A: If activated, your Power Up will add speed boosts to your hounds in eligible races regardless of whether you toggle on "Apply Boosts". If you have any speed boosts loaded to the hound, they will not be consumed. Note: if you wish for other boosts such as acceleration, endurance or consistancy to be applied, you should always toggle on "Apply Boosts".

**Q: How will I know if a speed boost was used?**\
A: Once a race has run look for the "Kennel Boosted" tag underneath your kennel name next to your hound.

**Q: Does the 30-day hold apply to new Racers I breed?**\
A: No. Hounds that start in your kennel are not subject to minimum holds.

**Q: What about hounds that are bred for me by someone else's kennel?**\
A: The 30-day hold period only applies to opened and raced hounds. If you breed or receive a new hound and it has not been raced then it will be eligible to be boosted with your kennel boost

**Q: Is there any difference between a normal paid speed boost and a hound that was boosted with a Power Up Breeder?**\
A: No. They have the same attributes and effects. If your hound states that it was Kennel Boosted in the race lobby, it would have run the same race if it had a regular speed boost.

# Auto Breeders

Breeders minted from 1760 to 1786 and after 1887

**Automatic Breeding:** When you hold an Auto Breeder it will breed a new Greyhound Racer every month for free and drop it in your kennel unopened. You can identify them with a unique gold color with the word "Auto" on the tag.

Breeders minted between 2338 and 5339

**Identifying Favourites:** This breeder allows you to view the favourites for any upcoming (within 15 mins) or completed greyhound and whippet races (Note: Excludes 1v1s). This can significantly help with hound and rabbit discovery.

&#x20;![](https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FlZTLF9kP5ohIR53R7oeL%2Fimage.png?alt=media\&token=309ca4ea-886a-4264-85d7-20163e554016)

NOTE: Everything is taken into consideration when identifying favourites. Boosts, Kennel Boost, Stats, Rabbits, Preferences etc.

# Muzzle God Breeders

Breeders minted from 5340 to 5439

**Identifying Preferences:** If you have a Muzzle God Breeder and the selected Racer in your kennel for at least 14 days and have set the racers preferences, you can consult the 'gods' up to three times per greyhound to see how well your chosen Racer matches the selected preferences.\
\
You can identify a God Breeder on the hound page as it has the God Breeder icon on the left of the hound card.<br>

![](https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FCloB5pByywrrYCl9BHeZ%2FScreenshot%202024-08-15%20064544.png?alt=media\&token=a5957c60-238d-4f92-90bd-c5c849ed9b84)<br>

NOTE: Once you've 'asked the Muzzle Gods' and the above requirements are met, a number will be returned and displayed out of 15. The total of 15, breakdown as follows:

* Distance preference = 1
* Weather preference = 1
* Track preference = 1
* Rabbit preferences = 12 (one for each distance)

Each hound's total count of spins (times asked) will be displayed on the hound view page and the kennel view.

IMPORTANT: Certain hounds may not have a rabbit preference associated with a distance funnel at all.&#x20;

# Burn Breeders

Burn Breeders allow you to burn up to 10 greyhounds per calendar month. When you burn a greyhound you will receive 1 Utility Credit for every dog you burn.

You can identify if your breeder is a Burn Breeder by seeing the flame on the top right of the breeder card. Here is an example below.\

# Workout Breeders

Allows you to schedule 3 races of the exact conditions of your choosing per day, per breeder, per racer to help with hound discovery.\
\
Owning a Workout breeder can be a great way to help you dial in your greyhound's preferences. It is a great way to gather data on your greyhound in your very own personalised conditions. You can choose race length, weather, track conditions and also setting your rabbits.\
\
You can see that the Workout Breeders are recognisable by their workout headband.![](https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2F1Xfm9CUXoeDSJmRlvdlm%2FScreenshot%202024-09-03%20140533.png?alt=media\&token=8b9b75cf-1562-49e2-8009-4cb79033f5d9)

To use your Workout Breeder head to your kennel and you can select up to 8 greyhounds using the tick box as seen below.

<figure><img src="https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FoCTcU5WH4xNsDwsxn245%2FScreenshot%202024-09-03%20142804.png?alt=media&amp;token=c73176bb-6d2e-4c39-aa87-3c271a4182a3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Now that you have selected which hounds you wish to use head to the top of your kennel page and select Create Practise Race.

<figure><img src="https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FJaDHlSPmeRrFb5jPNCXn%2FScreenshot%202024-09-03%20143016.png?alt=media&amp;token=af307cb6-2386-47d1-928d-469fb96d34a3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Choose which bredder you would like to use. This does not affect the practice races however, if you have more than one Workout Breeder you will be able to run more than 3 races a day (3 Per Breeder)\ <br>

<figure><img src="https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FPbu0xZUtwaSO2vZnjZdy%2FScreenshot%202024-09-03%20144416.png?alt=media&amp;token=502b0d8f-a9c8-4bcb-aaaa-7d25a5ae8b14" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Then you can select the rest of the race preferences and your individual greyhounds rabbits that you would like to test. Once you are happy with the setup you click Generate Workout Race and you can review the results.<br>

# Breeding

Breeding allows owners of Breeders to mint new Racers. Racers are bred at random according to a rarity percentage and delivered sealed for an owner to add to their kennel or sell on the secondary market.

### Breeding Facts

* Any Breeder can breed a hound of any rarity. For example, a common Breeder can breed an extremely rare Racer.
* Racers are bred at random. There is no way to predict the rarity bred of the next Racer until it is minted and opened.
* You only need to own one Breeder to breed a Racer.
* The identity and rarity of a Racer are unknown until the owner of that Racer opens the pack. You can open up your newly minted Racer in your kennel or sell it sealed for the next owner to open.
* Breeding has a fee which may change over time. It's one of the ways we protect the value of Racers on the secondary market.

# How To Breed

12 Matic per Breed

Minting Greyhounds

1. Visit the [**Breeding**](https://app.muzzle.run/breedering) tab from the left-hand navigation menu
2. Make sure [**Metamask**](https://metamask.io/) is installed and configured to point to the [**Polygon network**](https://docs.polygon.technology/docs/develop/metamask/config-polygon-on-metamask/)
3. Make sure you have at least 12.1 POL in your wallet to cover the mint fee and gas.
4. Select an available Breeder\*
5. Click "BREED NOW"
6. Accept the MetaMask prompt
7. Wait for confirmation of your brand-new sealed Racer.

\
\
Minting Whippets<br>

Head to the[ Whippet Mint](https://app.muzzle.run/whippets) tab on the left-hand navigation bar.

1. Make sure Metamask is installed and configured to point to the Polygon Network
2. Make sure you have at least 12.1 POL in your wallet to cover the mint fee and gas.
3. Select an available Breeder\* from the drop-down box.
4. Click "MINT NOW"&#x20;
5. Accept the Metamask prompt
6. Wait for confirmation of your brand-new Whippet<br>

# Rarity Distribution

When you breed a Racer it will have a rarity attached to it. The rarer the hound then the faster and more successful it will be without training. Rarer hounds can also enter exclusive tournaments with added prize pools. The chances of breeding a Racer of the different rarities are based on the following distribution.

* Common: 80%
* Rare: 18%
* Very Rare: 1.14%
* Extremely Rare: 0.13%

All Breeders have the equal potential to breed a Racer of any rarity. For example a common Breeder has the same chance as a rare Breeder to breed an extremely rare Racer.

# Base Statistics

Every hound has a set of publicly available base statistics that are part of determining how fast that hound will run in a race. With the exception of form, all statistics can only be improved through [training.](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/training) Form is increased and decreased based on race results and can also be increased with training.

**Speed**

A value that represents a hounds potential top speed based on the fastest a greyhound can run. Greyhounds have an unofficial top speed of 80km/h. If your hound has a speed value of 100 then the fastest your hound will be able to run is 80 km/h (without a speed boost). A higher speed value also means your hound will on average run faster than a hound with a lower speed value if all other factors were the same.

**Acceleration**

Acceleration is used to help determine how fast a hound is out the blocks. The higher the acceleration, the more likely a hound will hit its top speed earlier in the race.

**Endurance**

Hounds with high endurance are likely to suffer less fatigue as the race progresses. Generally speaking hounds with high endurance will perform better in longer races and maintain a higher average speed.

**Consistency**

Consistency is used to help determine how frequently a hound is able to utilise their statistics to their full potential. The higher the consistency, the higher the probability that a hound will produce a predictable result.

**Form**

Form is another statistic that influences how consistent a hound will run to the best of their ability. Form is increased and decreased after every race. The more a hound wins, the higher likelihood that the hound will run a fast next race and vice versa. Form can not drop below 50 and can not go above 100. Form points are added and decreased based on the following finishing positions:

1. +5
2. +3
3. +2
4. +0
5. -2
6. -2
7. -5
8. -5

# Collections

Muzzle Run currently has four collections (Breeder Collection, Racer Collection, Whippet and Rabbit Collection) and each collection contains a subset of subcollections (Common, Rare, Very Rare and Extremely Rare). Muzzle Run incentivises players who manage to own entire collections and subcollections with free tournaments awarding Matic prizes.

### Collection Facts

* View which cards you have collected and still need to collect from the [Collections tab.](https://app.muzzle.run/collections)
* You do not need to own a Racer of every generation to be considered to own an entire collection. For example, if you own an "Allan" with box preference 1 you do not need to collect any other Allans with different box preferences to complete your collection.
* There are ongoing tournaments for kennels who manage to collect different collections and subcollections. [View the tournament tab ](https://app.muzzle.run/tournaments-list)to see what's running next.&#x20;

### Example

The user below needs to own an Andrew Racer with any shirt number (generation/box preference) to own the entire Very Rare subcollection.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2F2XDRbJvujqGves1duSfN%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=58e89fa6-0ece-4e05-84ad-b51f98667d3e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Training

All hounds regardless of rarity have the ability to be a champion racer by training. Depending on the type of training it can increase a hound's statistics permanently or give them a temporary boost. Every training session also increases a hounds Form stat, earns the kennel utility credits and mints a new random Rabbit.

### Training Facts

* The kennel must pay a training fee by purchasing Training Credits
* Training for permanent statistical improvement can only be done a maximum of 5 times per hound (regardless of program)
* Training a specific attribute can only occur if a hound has less than 98 points for that stat (view your attribute stat by clicking "View Card" inside your kennel.
* Training a specific stat will result in a random increase guaranteed to be between 1 and 3 points
* Training for a temporary boost is not limited
* Training only takes about a minute and the results of the training can be viewed as soon as the training is over
* Owning a Zab Judah Re-roll Breeder will allow you to re-roll a single training session once only per hound

# Training Programs

There are two main types of training programs:

* Training for permanent statistical improvement
* Training for a temporary boost

In addition to performance enhancements, every training session also:

* &#x20;Earns your kennel XP: XP or Experience Points will be able to be spent inside the rewards store including entering special tournaments.
* Increases the Form statistic by two points (when Form is 98 or less) or 1 point (when Form is 99 or less). When Form is at 100 then it is not increased.
* Mints your kennel a new random Rabbit

### Training for permanent statistical improvement

Once the training program is complete your hounds base statistics will be permanently increased. There are 4 training programs under this category.

* Speed Training: Increases a Racers top speed stat by 1-3 points
* Acceleration: Increases a Racers acceleration stat by 1-3 points
* Endurance: Increases a Racers endurance stat by 1-3 points
* Consistency: Increases a Racers consistency stat by 1-3 points

### Training for a temporary boost

Once the training program is complete your hounds performance will be increased for a defined number of races. There are 4 training programs in this category.

* Speed Boost: Boosts a Racers top speed for the next 10 races
* Amplify Acceleration: Boosts a Racers acceleration for the next 10 races
* Tweak Endurance: Boosts a Racers Endurance for the next 10 races
* Consistency Juice: Boosts a Racers consistency for the next 10 races

Note: You can view how many boosts are remaining for your hound on Opensea. Remember to [refresh metadata](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/opensea/refresh-metadata) first

# Utility Credits

In order to train your hounds you must first purchase Utility Credits. You can purchase Utility Credits using POL. Utility Credits are stored on the blockchain inside the training contract and allow you to train your racer and mint Rabbits.

1. Navigate to the "[**Funds & Credits**](https://app.muzzle.run/funds?action=Training)" tab at the top of the left-hand navigation menu and click "Training"
2. Select the desired number of credits
3. Click "Purchase" and approve the metamask prompt
4. Your credits will be updated when the transaction has been validated. This normally happens within 1 minute but can be delayed due to network congestion.

Note: The more credits you buy the cheaper they are. Use the drop-down to change the number of credits and see the corresponding price

### Burn Rabbits for Utility Credits

Gold, Silver and Bronze Rabbits can be burnt in exchange for Utility Credits. To burn your rabbits&#x20;

* Click "Your Kennel"
* Choose Rabbits in the NFT type radio filter
* Find your Gold, Silver or Bronze Rabbit
* Click "Burn For Utility Credits"
* Approve the Metamask prompt

Your training credits will be displayed in the funds tab in about a minute and available to use for temporary and permanent training sessions.\
\
Utility Credits received for Rabbit(s):

* Bronze Rabbits: 1 Credit&#x20;
* Silver Rabbits: 10 Credits&#x20;
* Gold Rabbits: 40 Credits

# How To Train

1. Visit the [**Training**](https://app.muzzle.run/train) tab from the left hand navigation menu
2. Make sure [**Metamask**](https://metamask.io/) is installed and configured to point to the [**Polygon network**](https://docs.polygon.technology/docs/develop/metamask/config-polygon-on-metamask/)
3. Select the desired training session
4. Select from available hounds. Note: If the training session is for permanent statistical improvement, only hounds with less than 98 points for that specific statistic will be available (provided they have not completed 5 training programs for permanent statistical improvement).
5. Accept the MetaMask prompt
6. Your hound will enter a capsule while the training is in progress
7. Do not exit the page while training is in progress, it shouldn't take longer than a minute
8. View the results of your training session

Note: The training results take effect immediately and can be viewed on Muzzle Run by clicking "View Card" inside your kennel, however if you wish to view them immediately on OpenSea then you will need to [**refresh Metadata**](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/opensea/refresh-metadata)

# Training Re-Rolls

If you hold a [Zab Judah themed Breeder](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/breeders-mint#breeder-benefits) in your kennel you are entitled to re-roll a single training session for any hound that has at least one session available.&#x20;

**Here's how it works**

Every time you train a hound you are presented with the outcome of that training session once it has been completed. If you have an eligible Breeder in your kennel and the racer being trained has not re-rolled in the past you will be presented with the option to "Accept" or "Re-Roll" the current training session.

For example, you have a Rare Racer with 97 Speed and you are attempting to train it to 100. You complete your training session and you spin a +1. If you have a Zab Judah themed Breeder in your kennel and the Rare Racer has not completed a Re-Roll in the past then you have the option to discard the current training session and try again for a better result.

### Re-Roll Facts

* It does not cost an extra training session when you opt to re-roll
* You are not awarded extra XP or Rabbits when you re-roll
* You must decide to re-roll on the training confirmation screen
* You only need to hold one Zab Judah themed Breeder in your kennel to unlock this feature for all eligible hounds

*An eligible hound is any Racer that has at least one training session available.*

# Racing

Muzzle Run racing is an exciting game of skill that lets you enter your hounds in to virtual races against other kennels and earn Matic or Froth in the process. There are different race events including free racing (no prize pool), free racing (added prize pool), paid racing (prize pool), Sit and Go (Prize Pool), Daily Tournaments (Prize Pool) and Major/ Main Event tournaments (free to enter with prize pool). You can find a list of all race events open for registration as well as scheduled and resulted events in the Race tab from the left-hand navigation menu.

### Skill Factor

Muzzle Run Racing has been designed to ensure skill is the major determining factor in the long-term success of a kennel. There are several different predetermined hidden preferences and factors that will determine whether a hound will likely run a fast race and it is a discovery process over time for a kennel owner to understand these preferences in in order to enter each hound into races where they are likely to perform the best.

### Publicly disclosed preference types

A Greyhounds or Whippets preferences will never change, however, additional preference types may be added to increase the complexity and skill factor.

* Race distance (Sprinter, Middle, Stayer, Marathon)
* Track type (Hard, Soft, Wet, Muddy)
* Weather conditions (Sunny, Rain, Cloudy, Snow, Hail)
* Hound + Rabbit combination (Greyhounds)

# Class System - Racers

Note: The class system is currently being trialed and is subject to change based on effectiveness and feedback

The Muzzle Run class system is designed for everyone to enjoy a competitive race experience regardless if they have a champion hound or just getting started. Hounds are currently grouped in to 4 different classes and progress through the first 3 classes based on their cumulative race performances. Group 1 hounds need to qualify by placing in a group 1 trial during the month. More on Group 1 trials below. As a hound progresses through the class system, the perks and earning potential for that hound increase.

### Class Points

Class points are used to determine whether a hound runs in Group 2 or 3 after their first win (if they haven't qualified for Group 1). Every un-raced hound starts with 0 class points regardless of rarity or training. Points are awarded or deducted according to the hounds performance in every race based on the following finishing places:

1. +10 points
2. +10 points
3. +10 points
4. -10 points
5. -10 points
6. -10 points
7. -1 point
8. -1 point

Note: No hound can drop below 0 class points

### Class System Resets

Once Yearly Reset: Every hound will start with zero class points at the beginning of each year. This reset ensures a level playing field, giving all participants an equal chance to race to the top.

Group 1 Stays Elite: Group 1 hounds are not affected by class points and maintain their elite status until relegated. The bottom 33%, ranked by monthly Muzzle League points, will face relegation.

### Maiden

The Maiden class is for all hounds seeking their first win. A hound will immediately advance to Group 3 once they win a race. Maidens currently:

* Funnel promising hounds who have shown some early success in to Group 3
* Can qualify for tournaments
* Can't enter paid races

### Group 4

A hound qualifies to run Group 4 races when they have won their first race, are untrained and un-boosted are a Common rarity with a speed value not exceeding 92 and they've earned less than 1000 Matic in prize money. Class points do not determine whether a hound is in or out of Group 4, the above criteria is the only determination. Technically a hound can be eligible for Group 3 or Group 2 and still be able to run in Group 4 events. Group 4 hounds currently:

* Can qualify for tournaments
* Can enter paid races up to 600 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v 1 Races
* Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 600 Froth

### Group 3

A hound qualifies to run Group 3 races when they have won their first race and do not exceed the class point threshold for Group 2\*. Group 3 hounds currently:

* Can qualify for tournaments
* Can enter paid races up to 600 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v1 Races
* Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 600 Froth

### Group 2

A hound qualifies to run Group 2 races when they've met the class point threshold\* communicated by the Muzzle Run team at the time. Group 2 hounds currently:

* Can qualify for tournaments
* Can enter paid races up to 1200 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v 1 Races
* Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 600 Froth
* Can enter trials for Group 1 (see Group 1 below for more info on trials)

### Group 1

The most prestigious class hosting the very top echelon of racers on Muzzle Run. A hound qualifies to run Group 1 races by placing in the promotion zone of a Group 1 trial event. Group 1 hounds currently:

* Can qualify for tournaments
* Are entered into an exclusive monthly Group 1 tournament automatically
* Can enter paid races up to 1200 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v 1 Races.
* Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 1200 Froth

Once qualified Group 1 hounds remain in that class for the entire month. On the first of every month any hound that qualifies for Group 1 will be entered into the monthly Group 1 tournament. On the last day of every month, the bottom 10% of Group 1 hounds according to their monthly [Muzzle League](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/racing/muzzle-league-2024) points are downgraded to their respective lower class allowing space for the next qualifiers to take their shot.\
\
Group 1 Stays Elite: Group 1 hounds are not affected by class points and maintain their elite status until relegated. The bottom 33%, ranked by their overall monthly Muzzle League points, will face relegation. Once relegated, Group 1 hounds can not run Group 1 again, they are effectively "retired" from the class system and are no longer eligible to run class-based races or events. However, they can enter Open events and races for all time.

Trials for Group 1 are open to all Group 2 hounds and will be held every month. These trials will be conducted in a Tournament format and participants will have the opportunity to compete for a prize pool. The number of hounds promoted to Group 1 after trials depends on the number of hounds relegated from Group 1 (See Muzzle League for further info)

\*Class point thresholds are a floating number and may change as the number of hounds enter the ecosystem. [Join us on Discord](https://discord.com/invite/Ym84JwqJmf) to stay up to date in real time.

The most prestigious class hosting the very top echelon of Whippets on Muzzle Run. A hound qualifies to run Group 1 races by exceeding 200 class points. Group 1 whippets currently:

* Can qualify for tournaments
* Are entered into an exclusive monthly Group 1 tournament automatically
* Can enter paid races
* Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 600 Froth

Once qualified by meeting the Group 1 class point threshold, Group 1 hounds remain in Group 1 until their hounds fall below 200\* class points in which point they can race to get back into Group 1 by gaining more than 200\* class points.\
\
Retirement: Group 1 Whippets retire at the end of each year if they have participated in 1 or more Whippet Elite events. Whippet Elite is a registerable tournament, therefore it will be up to a Kennel to decide when to run their Whippet in the Whippet Elite tournaments.

\*Class point thresholds are a floating number and may change as the number of hounds enter the ecosystem. [Join us on Discord](https://discord.com/invite/Ym84JwqJmf) to stay up to date in real-time

# Race Types

Note: Some race types will burn your Rabbit card, but you will always be advised before hand.

### Free - No prize (practice)

These races are available 24 hours a day and the volume is determined by the number of active users. They can be used to discover your hounds different preferences. They affect a hounds class points, racing statistics and can be used to increase their form statistic. Rabbits played during these races are not burnt and can therefore be played an unlimited number of times.

### Free - Prize (Breeder Owner Only)

These are special racing events that don't cost Froth to enter but award a prize pool. They are available intermittently and always announced [in our Discord general chat](https://discord.com/invite/Ym84JwqJmf) as they happen. They are available to owners of Breeders only. For more information on Breeders see [Breeders Mint](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/breeders-mint). Rabbits played during these races can only be played once and are then burnt.&#x20;

### Paid - Prize

These are race events that allow you to pay an entry fee that will contribute to the total prize pool of the race and awarded to the top 3 finishers. You need [racing funds](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/racing/racing-funds) to enter paid racing.&#x20;

The entry fee and associated prizes increase as a hound moves up in class. See [class system](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/racing/class-system-racers) for more information.&#x20;

Currently Muzzle Run does not take a commission on paid races, so the entire race entry fees paid by kennels are allocated to the prize pool. This may change in the future, but you will be made aware before changes occur.

# Racing Funds

You can enter paid races by depositing funds in to the racing contract or burning rabbits for racing credits. If you have enough racing credits to enter a race they will always be used first. Your funds (excluding racing credits) can be withdrawn at any time. If the races require Froth you will only need to hold Froth in your Metamask wallet. There is no need to add funds to your racing funds.

### Add Racing Funds

All racing funds are held and managed by the racing contract. You can deposit funds by&#x20;

* Visit the "[**Funds & Credits**](https://app.muzzle.run/funds?action=Racing)" tab from the left-hand navigation menu and click "Racing"
* Click "Switch to deposit"
* Enter your deposit amount in Matic
* Approve the Metamask prompt

Your funds will be available in about a minute and can then be used to enter paid races

### Withdraw

Any funds you have deposited (and not used) or won from paid racing are available to withdraw into your Metamask at any time by

* Clicking the racing tab
* Click "Funds" in the top menu&#x20;
* Click "Withdraw"
* Approve the Metamask prompt

Your funds will be displayed in your Metamask account in about 1 minute

# Tournaments

Tournaments are a schedule of free races that award Matic or Froth based on a predefined set of conditions. You can find a list of current, scheduled and past tournaments in the tournament tab from the left-hand navigation menu.

### Qualification

Some tournaments require hounds to meet certain qualification requirements to enter a tournament. The qualification criteria can be found by clicking the tournament name inside the tournament lobby. Criteria are normally communicated through Discord prior to registration.

### Invitational

Muzzle Run hosts several invitational tournaments throughout the year to award our most engaged and successful kennels. Criteria to be invited are not publicly available until qualified kennels have been announced.

### Prizes

All prizes for tournaments are paid out shortly after the final race of the tournament according to the prize schedule which can be found in the results tab of the selected tournament lobby.

Important: All prizes are paid to the owner of the hound as recorded on the NFT contract at the time the prize is won, not specifically the kennel that entered the hound. For example, if you entered a hound into a tournament that wins a prize, but sold the hound before the result, then the new owner would receive the prize

# Muzzle League 2024

10 January - 13 December 2024

<figure><img src="https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FAmoroNi7OoxYREG6egt2%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=bcb634ae-5bee-49f2-bc4f-d557bc38ee5f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The Muzzle League in 2024 is poised to be a groundbreaking event in the world of Muzzle Run and Group 1 racing. It has been meticulously designed to offer a unique and exciting experience, distinguishing itself from the previous iteration and setting a new standard for competitive web 3 racing.

### Features of 2024 Muzzle League

#### Quarterly Competition Structure

* **Fresh Starts Every Quarter:** The Muzzle League introduces a structure where the year is divided into four quarters, each representing a new competition cycle. This approach allows racers to join at various points in the year and still have the opportunity to compete effectively.
* **End of Year Accumulation and Hype:** While the quarterly structure offers regular opportunities, there is still a big emphasis on the end of the year. 20% of the total monthly Muzzle League budget is accumulated over the year, culminating in a final tournament where the top 8 hounds will share the prize pool. Every hound who has earned at least 1 Muzzle League point in 2024 will compete in this highly anticipated climax to the Muzzle League season.

#### Exclusive Emphasis on Group 1 Racers

The Muzzle League in 2024 is dedicated exclusively to Group 1 hounds, ensuring that the level of competition remains high and everyone racing for the biggest prizes in Muzzle Run have earned their spot.

**Dual Leaderboard System**

In 2024 the League introduces two separate leaderboards – one exclusively for paid races and another for overall performance, which includes both free and paid racing points accumulation.

#### Prize Distribution and Rewards

* **Quarterly Leaderboard:** 50% of the Muzzle League budget is allocated to the top 16 hounds based on their paid racing Muzzle League points at the end of each quarter.&#x20;
* **Quarterly Tournaments:** At the end of each quarter a high-stakes tournament exclusive to the top 32 hounds based on their overall Group 1 Muzzle League points. The top 8 finishers in these tournaments are entitled to 30% of the quarterly Muzzle League budget.

*In the event of ties for the top 32 positions, the Muzzle League ensures fairness by allowing all tied hounds to participate in the quarterly tournaments. To ensure the tournament entries are divisible by 8, non competitive bot dogs will be added to fill the remaining spots.*

#### Enhanced Focus on Paid Racing

* **Revolutionising Paid Races:** Starting from 10 January 2024, paid races in Muzzle Run will no longer use boosts, nor will they require the burning of rabbits upon entry. This is not specific to Muzzle League, it is across the entire Muzzle Run ecosystem.

### Points

Points are only accumulated for a hounds first 100 races in Group 1 per month (excluding tournament races). The 100 race limit is across both paid and free racing so it is critical a kennel strategically chooses the right type of race to enter their Group 1 hound depending on their goals. Note, while Group 1 dogs are eligible to race Group 2 races, they will not earn Muzzle points in Group 2 races.&#x20;

**Free & Paid racing**

* Winning a race (paid and free): 2 points
* Placing in a race (paid and free): 1 point

**Tournaments**

Every month all Group 1 hounds are entered in to a tournament called "The Group 1 Riccarton Elite". In 2023 hounds could accumulate Muzzle League points by placing well in this tournament. In 2024 no Muzzle League points will be awarded in the Group 1 Riccarton Elite.

### Prizes

Muzzle Run will dedicate 10% of its monthly revenue from minting, breeding, and training activities directly to the Muzzle League's prize pool. This exciting development includes a new feature allowing participants and spectators to track the accumulating prize value in real-time. Starting from 10 January 2024, this information will be conveniently accessible in the Muzzle League tab on the app.

Key features of this real-time tracking system include:

* **Dynamic Prize Updates:** The prize amounts for the various categories within the Muzzle League will be updated live. This ensures that participants always have the latest information on what they are competing for.
* **Visibility of Quarterly Prizes:** The system provides detailed insights into the top 16 prizes for paid racing that are awarded every quarter.
* **Tournament Prize Tracking:** It will also display the top 8 prizes for both the Muzzle League's quarterly tournaments and the end-of-year grand tournament.
* **Enhanced Transparency:** This feature brings a new level of transparency and excitement to the League, as racers and fans alike can watch the prize pool grow over time, adding to the competition's intensity and allure.

### Conclusion

The 2024 Muzzle League stands out as a pinnacle of racing excellence. It has been innovatively designed to provide a challenging yet rewarding platform for the best Group 1 racers. With its unique structure, inclusive policies, and a strong focus on both free and paid races, the League is set to be a landmark event in the racing calendar.

# Muzzle Run Racing 2025 Season (Hounds)

The official documentation for Muzzle Run: Season 3 (Hounds). This guide provides everything you need to know about the 2025 season.

<figure><img src="https://88563414-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FjoT9nmQe2P7obUKbsept%2Fuploads%2FfcGefC8XbFMCkPk3wLTu%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a9776499-acfa-4013-bf54-286ad4ca2c54" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Introduction

Welcome to **Season 3** of *Muzzle Run Racing for Whippets and Greyhounds*! This season continues to deliver the excitement of competitive racing with new structures, enhanced incentives, and earning opportunities for players at every level. Our goal is to deliver juicy prizes, heart pounding moments and reduce the workload for larger kennels. Whether you're racing Greyhounds for high stakes or Whippets for a simpler experience, there's something for everyone.

### Key Dates

* **Season Start:** January 6th 2025, 12:00 AM UTC

***

### Class Structure

All class points are reset at the start of Season 3. Classes are structured to ensure competitive balance while maintaining progression opportunities:

* **Maiden**: Hounds that have not won a race.
* **Group 3**: Hounds with at least one win and fewer than 200 class points.
* **Group 2**: Hounds with 200+ class points but not yet qualified for Group 1.
* **Group 1**: Hounds that have won a ticket through Group 1 trials and are not relegated.
* Every hound that qualifies for Group 1 throughout 2025 will be retired from the class system once the season completes. They can still compete in Open events.

#### Key Changes for Season 3

* Whippets now include a **Group 1 qualification process**, aligning their structure with Greyhounds.
* **No minimum race requirements** for class-based tournaments.
* **Group 3 main events have been discontinued** to maintain competitive prize pools and focus on higher classes.

*Why are we removing the minimum monthly race requirement for Group 2? To ease the workload for players as the game ecosystem grows, making it more manageable for those with larger kennels playing multiple games.*

***

### Paid Racing and Class Advancement

Season 3 places greater emphasis on **paid racing**, providing faster progression opportunities for players:

* **Class Points**:
  * No points deducted for finishing 4th–8th (Greyhounds) or 4th–6th (Whippets) in paid races.
  * **1st–3rd places in paid races award double class points** compared to free races.

*Important! This includes Group 1 Muzzle League points used for relegation from Group 1*

***

### Tournament and Revenue Allocation

Season 3 adopts a **stricter revenue allocation** model to sustain long-term prize pools and adapt to the ecosystem's growth.

#### Minting and Training Revenue Distribution

Revenue from minting Greyhound, Whippet (and any future hound specific) NFTS and training revenue is allocated as follows:

**Greyhounds**

* **10%**: Group 1 Main Event (*Riccarton Elite*)
* **4%**: Group 1 Muzzle League Paid Racing Leaderboard (monthly resets)
* **4%**: Group 1 Muzzle League End of Quarter Tournament

* **2%**: Group 1 Muzzle League Paid Racing Leaderboard (monthly resets)

#### Group 1 Trials

* **Eligibility**: Hounds with 200+ class points.
* **Revenue Allocation**:
  * **Greyhounds**: 3% of app revenue.

# Horse Racing

## Introduction

Horse Racing is the latest **play-to-earn experience** to join the Muzzle Run ecosystem. This game has been carefully designed from the ground up, drawing inspiration from proven mechanics in other successful Muzzle Run formats. The result is a system that is not only competitive and rewarding, but also filled with non-stop action and heart-pounding racing moments.

Every decision — from horse breeding and training, to jockey selection and tournament play — matters. Success requires both strategy and a little bit of luck, keeping gameplay exciting and unpredictable.

***

## Horse Types: Stallion and Mare

At the very foundation of the game are two horse genders:

* **Stallion**
* **Mare**

Gender plays **no role in racing performance**. It exists purely for the purpose of **breeding mechanics**. Both types can become champions on the track, but when it comes to creating the next generation of racers, you’ll need one of each.

***

## Generations

Horses are classified into **Generations**, with each generation acting as a **limited-edition series** carrying its own special characteristics. While any generation is capable of producing a champion, earlier generations tend to contain a higher concentration of elite racers.

### Primordials

* The **original collection** of horses in the ecosystem.
* Every horse in existence can trace its family tree back to at least one Primordial, meaning all horses carry Primordial DNA no matter how far down the lineage.
* **Unique traits:**
  * No parents on-chain (the true “founders”).
  * Never retire.
  * Can breed while still actively racing.
* **Supply:** Only 1,000 exist.

### Satoshis

* The next generation to follow Primordials.
* Automatically produced until the first **10,000 horses after Primordials** are bred.
* **Unique traits:**
  * Do not age and can race for life.
  * However, **must retire in order to breed**.
  * High concentration of elite-level racers.
* **Supply:** 10,000.

***

## Preferences

Every horse has a set of **preferences** that influence performance. Horses will typically run more competitively when racing in conditions they prefer. Preferences are split into:

* **Track Type:** Hard, Soft, Wet, Muddy
* **Weather:** Rain, Hail, Snow, Sunny
* **Distance:**
  * **Sprint**&#x20;
    * 1000m, 1100m, 1200m
  * **Intermediate**
    * 1300m, 1400m, 1500m
  * **Middle-Distance**&#x20;
    * 1600m, 1800m, 2000m
  * **Staying**&#x20;
    * 2200m, 2400m, 3200m

**Important Note:** Unlike Greyhounds and Whippets, horses can have **multiple preferences within the same category**.&#x20;

***

## Jockeys

Jockeys add a completely new dimension to racing. They play a **critical role** in whether or not a horse reaches its full potential.

* **Skill Levels:**
  * Every jockey has a hidden skill rating that reveals itself over time through race performance.
  * Skilled jockeys are better at pacing, lane navigation, and extracting maximum potential from their horse.
* **Chemistry:**
  * While jockeys don’t have preferences (track, weather, or distance), chemistry with a specific horse can provide a slight performance edge. Note, chemistry is designed to seperate only the best horse + jockey combo's. It does not play a significant role in your day to day racing.
* **Form:**
  * Jockey Form is a **public stat**.
  * It rises when a jockey places or wins, and decreases when finishing near the back.
  * A higher form translates directly into a greater chance of winning.
  * Transferring a jockey to a new stable resets their form as they adjust to the new environment.
* **Renting Jockeys:**
  * Jockeys can be rented between stables for individual races, tournaments, or longer time periods.
  * Rentals are managed directly within the Muzzle Run app.
  * Importantly, renting does **not reset form** — only transferring stables does.

***

## Horse Class Progression

Horse racing classes follow a familiar structure to Greyhounds and Whippets but place **greater emphasis on paid racing**.

* **Maiden:** Winless horses. Advance after winning any race (free, paid, or tournament).
* **Group 3:** For horses with at least one win but under 200 class points.
* **Group 2:** For horses with 200 or more class points.
* **Group 1:** Accessible by winning a **Group 1 Trials event**.

### Class Points System

Points are added or deducted based on finishing position:

**Free Racing**

* Win: +2
* Place: +1
* 4th–8th: -1
* 9th–12th: -2

**Paid Racing**

* Win: +6
* Place: +4
* 4th: +3
* 5th–12th: No deduction

*Please note: The Group 2 class threshold is subject to change.*

***

## Muzzle League (Horses)

The **Muzzle League** is the pinnacle of competition, a **monthly Group 1 tournament series** where only the best horses compete.

* All races are **paid racing only**.
* There is **no rake** on paid racing.
* The bottom **15% of horses** in the monthly standings are relegated, making room for new challengers.
* This relegation/advancement system keeps the league competitive and dynamic.
* The total number of Group 1 horses naturally regulates between **250–300**.

### Monthly Group 1 Major Event

Every Group 1 horse competes in a **Main Event** once per month.

### End of Year Major Event

At the end of the calendar year, every horse that has qualified for Group 1 at any time during the year is entered into the **Major Year-End Event**.

### Revenue Distribution

A portion of app **minting and training revenue** is distributed across the league:

* 10% → Monthly Group 1 Main Event
* 4% → Monthly Group 1 Paid Racing leaderboard prize
* 6% → End-of-Year Major Event

### Re-qualification Rules

At the start of each year, all horses are reset out of Group 1, but are eligible to re-qualify. The following horses are exempt from end of year relegation and remain in Group 1:

* Win a Group 1 Main Event
* Win a Major Event
* Finish first in a monthly Paid Racing leaderboard

***

## Group 1 Trials

Group 1 Trials are tournaments specifically designed for **Group 2 horses** to qualify for Group 1.

* Run throughout the month, similar to **Daily Guarantees**.
* **Froth entry** fee.
* Guaranteed prize pool.
* Held **twice a week**.
* Top 3 horses from each trial progress into Group 1.

**Note:** Although a horse’s class changes to Group 1 immediately after qualifying, they will not accumulate Group 1 points or face relegation until the start of the next calendar month.

***

## Breeding

Breeding is a core pillar of the ecosystem.

* Requires a **Stallion** and a **Mare**.
* Only **Primordials** and horses **retired from racing** can breed.

### Inbreeding Restrictions

Immediate family pairings are prohibited:

* Father/Daughter
* Mother/Son
* Brother/Sister
* Half Brother/Half Sister (directly sharing at least one of the same parent)

### DNA System

* Each horse has a unique DNA string generated at the moment of breeding saved on chain.
* DNA is based on:
  * Father’s DNA
  * Mother’s DNA
  * Breeding timestamp
* Traits such as preferences, stats, and performance factors are inherited.
* Horses with champion ancestors have a higher chance of producing champion offspring.
* Studying a horse’s **family tree** can provide insights into probable preferences before racing.

***

## Racing Mechanics

* **Eligibility:** Any horse can race once it has been bred, opened, and named.
* **Retirement:**
  * Once retired, horses can no longer race but may breed.
  * Primordials never retire.
  * Satoshis retire voluntarily.
  * Future generations retire at set ages.
* **Engine:** Muzzle Runs horse racing engine uses **custom algorithms and AI machine learning** to simulate lane navigation and decision-making.

### Injuries

Currently, horses do not suffer injuries that prevent racing. This system may be introduced in future updates.

***

## Training

Training mirrors the system used for Greyhounds and Whippets.

* Improves base, publicly displayed stats.
* Provide **temporary performance boosts** for specific races/tournaments.
* Training results are random, with no way to influence the probability of a good outcome.

***

## Race Formats

Horses can compete in a variety of formats:

* **Free Racing** - Free to enter races that jump as soon as 12 horses have entered. Great for discovering preferences, and low risk class progression
* **Paid Racing** - Zero rake $FROTH entry fees and prizes that jump once 12 horses have registered.
* **Main Event Tournaments** – High-stakes major competitions.
* **Daily Guaranteed Tournaments** – $FROTH entry, guaranteed prize pools, daily runs with varying entry conditions.
* **Sit & Gos** – Quick tournaments that start immediately once registration fills.
* **Spin & Gos** – Single races with a USDT entry fee; once all 3 horses enter, a **random prize pool** is selected, offering large potential payouts. (Prize pool probabilities and full Spin & Go rules will be released separately.)
* **Shotgun Start Races** – USDT paid races with no minimum number of entrants available for entry. Once 2 horses register, a countdown begins. Additional horses can join until the race is full or the timer ends.
  * **Important:** Class points are only awarded in Shotgun races with **at least 8 runners**.

# Spin & Go’s

### Overview

**Spin & Go’s** are a short-format, winner-take-all single race type in Muzzle Run.

Each Spin & Go race consists of **three horses**, all paying the same entry fee. Once all three entries are filled, a prize pool multiplier is randomly selected and the race begins.

***

### How Spin & Go’s Work

#### Entry

* Each Spin & Go requires **three horses**
* All horses pay the same entry fee
* The race does not begin until all entries are filled

#### Prize Pool Spin

* After registration closes, a **prize pool multiplier** is selected at random
* Multipliers range from **2× to 100×** the entry fee
* The selected multiplier determines the total prize paid to the winner

#### Race Conditions

* **Distance:** Fixed and shown before entry
* **Weather:** Randomized after all entries are filled
* **Track:** Randomized after all entries are filled

All race conditions are finalized before the race begins.

#### Payout Structure

* **Winner takes all**
* Only **1st place** receives a payout
* No prizes are awarded for 2nd or 3rd place

***

### Rake

Spin & Go’s use a **built-in rake** that varies by buy-in level.\
The rake is embedded in the prize probability distribution and is not taken as a separate fee.

Higher buy-ins feature lower rake percentages.

*Rake collected is equally shared among $FROTH stakers, $FROTH buy & burn and the protocol*

* Greyhounds and Whippets entering Group 1 in 2026 retire from the class system in 2027
* Horses continue normal class participation in 2027

***

### How Racing Rewards Work in 2026

All racing rewards are funded by **minting and training revenue** generated by players.

#### Category-Specific Rewards

Each racing category funds its **own rewards**:

* Greyhound minting & training → Greyhound racing rewards
* Whippet minting & training → Whippet racing rewards
* Horse minting & training → Horse racing rewards

Revenue does **not** move between categories.\
Each racing ecosystem stands on its own.

***

### Revenue Allocation Overview

For each racing category, minting and training revenue is allocated as follows:

* **30% → Racing Rewards**
* **30% → Breeder Rewards**
* **40% → Protocol & Operations**

#### Important Note (Greyhounds)

For **Greyhounds**, the **30% Racing Rewards allocation is in addition to Breeder Rewards**.

Greyhound breeders continue to receive Breeder Rewards, Froth Breeder Rewards, and Final Breeder tournaments on top of all racing-specific prize pools.

***

### Breeder Rewards

Breeder rewards apply across all formats and racing categories.

The following allocations are fixed for the entire 2026 season:

* **10% → Breeder Rewards**
* **10% → Froth Breeder Rewards**
* **10% → Final Breeders**

These allocations are non-negotiable and form a core pillar of the Muzzle Run economy.

***

### Racing Rewards Breakdown (Per Category)

Each racing category allocates its **entire 30% Racing Rewards** as follows:

* **10% → Monthly Elite Main Event**
* **10% → Monthly Muzzle League Leaderboard**
* **10% → End-of-Year Championship Event**

All 30% is fully committed to racing rewards.

These allocations apply equally to:

* Greyhounds
* Whippets
* Horses

***

### Public Prize Pool Addresses

All racing rewards in 2026 are funded through **public on-chain allocation addresses**.

Each reward stream has its own dedicated address where funds accumulate automatically as revenue is generated.

#### Allocation Addresses

* Monthly Elite Main Event: **\[To be published before 1 February 2026]**
* Monthly Muzzle League Leaderboard: **\[To be published before 1 February 2026]**
* End-of-Year Championship Event: **\[To be published before 1 February 2026]**

#### Transparency & Payouts

* Prize pools are always funded before events run
* Anyone can verify balances at any time
* Prizes are paid directly from the allocation address
* Fast, reliable, and provable payouts

***

### Class Structure (All Racing Categories)

All racing categories — **Greyhounds, Whippets, and Horses** — follow the exact same class structure.

#### Maiden

* For winless racers
* Advance after winning any race:
  * Free race
  * Paid race
  * Tournament race

***

#### Group 3

* At least one career win
* Fewer than 200 class points

***

#### Group 2

* 200 or more class points
* Gateway class to elite racing

***

#### Group 1 (Elite)

* The highest level of competition
* Only accessible by winning a **Group 1 Trials** event

***

### Group 1 Trials (New for 2026)

**This is a complete change from previous seasons.**

Group 1 Trials are now **Daily Guaranteed Tournaments** that run once a week and serve as the primary path into Group 1 racing.

They apply to:

* Greyhounds
* Whippets
* Horses

#### Format

* Daily Guaranteed Tournaments
* Froth entry fee
* Guaranteed prize pools
* Identical structure to standard Daily Guaranteed tournaments

#### Weekly Progression

Each week:

* **8 Greyhounds progress to Group 1**
* **6 Whippets progress to Group 1**
* **12 Horses progress to Group 1**

#### Qualification Rules

* Class updates to Group 1 immediately upon qualification
* No Group 1 points are earned until the next calendar month
* Relegation protection applies until the next calendar month

***

### Group 1 Relegation (Important Change)

Relegation in 2026 is based on **Monthly Elite Main Event performance**, not Muzzle League standings.

#### Relegation Rule

* Any racer finishing in the **bottom 15% of a Monthly Elite Main Event**
* Is relegated back to **Group 2**

This ensures elite status is defended in headline events, not through grinding allowing easier participation across multiple racing formats.

***

### Muzzle League (Paid Racing Only)

The **Muzzle League** is the highest level of ongoing competition.

#### 2026 Rule

* All Muzzle League races are **paid races** and **rake free**
* There is **no free racing** in the Muzzle League

Paid racing is the only way to:

* Earn Muzzle League points
* Climb the Monthly Muzzle League Leaderboard
* Compete for Muzzle League prize pools

***

### Daily Guaranteed Tournaments

Daily Guaranteed Tournaments remain a core part of racing in 2026.

#### Prize Pool Mechanics

* **10% of every entry fee is burned**
* **90% of every entry fee is added to the prize pool**
* Guaranteed minimum prizes apply
* Prize pools grow with participation

***

#### Category Rotation

Daily Guaranteed Tournaments rotate evenly across:

* Horses
* Greyhounds
* Whippets

The rotation is:

* Daily
* Equal
* Predictable

Each category receives the same number of Daily Guaranteed tournaments over the year from 1 February.

Note: Group 1 trial guaranteed tournaments are additional to the regular schedule.

***

### Class Retirement Rules (2027 Transition)

#### Greyhounds & Whippets

* Any Greyhound or Whippet that enters Group 1 during 2026
* Will retire from the class system in 2027

Retired racers will be eligible for designated elite or open-format events.

***

#### Horses

* Horses do **not** retire from the class system in 2026
* Normal class progression continues into 2027

***

### Special Featured Events

Special featured events may be introduced during the 2026 season based on ecosystem activity.

#### Key Points

***

### Recruiting Facts

* Any Coach can recruit a player of any rarity.
* There is no way to predict the rarity of the next recruited Player until it is minted and opened.
* You only need to own one Coach in order to recruit a Player.
* The identity and rarity of a Player is unknown until the owner of that Player opens the pack. You can open up your newly minted Player in your club or sell it sealed for the next owner to open.
* Recruiting has a fee which may change over time. It's one of the ways we protect the value of Players on the secondary market.

# Base Statistics

Every Player has a set of publicly available base statistics that are part of determining how skilled that player will play in a game. With the exception of condition, all statistics can only be improved through training[.](/muzzle-run-docs/muzzle-run-racing/training) Condition is increased and decreased based on game results and can also be increased with training.

# Football Spin & Go’s

### Overview

**Spin & Go’s** are a short-format, winner-take-all tournament in Muzzle Run.

Each Spin & Go race consists of **three football clubs**, all paying the same entry fee. Once all three entries are filled, a prize pool multiplier is randomly selected and the tournament begins.

***

### How Spin & Go’s Work

#### Entry

* Each Spin & Go requires **three clubs**
* All clubs pay the same entry fee
* The tournament does not begin until all entries are filled

#### Prize Pool Spin

* After registration closes, a **prize pool multiplier** is selected at random
* Multipliers range from **2× to 100×** the entry fee
* The selected multiplier determines the total prize paid to the winner

#### Match Conditions

* Randomized after all entries are filled

#### Tournament Structure

* Double round-robin (each team plays every other team twice).
* &#x20;Winner is determined by standings after all matches:\
  1\. Points — most points wins\
  2\. Goal Difference — (goals scored − goals conceded), if tied on points\
  3\. Goals Scored — total goals, if tied on GD\
  4\. Wins — total wins, if tied on goals

*If all four are equal across the top two teams, the tournament is declared a draw and all clubs share the prize pool*.

#### Payout Structure

* **Winner takes all**
* Only **1st place** receives a payout
* No prizes are awarded for 2nd or 3rd place unless the tournament is a draw

***
