## 🎯 Tournament Structure

### Qualifier Format

Each qualifier tournament follows a **two-stage format**:

#### Stage 1: Pool Round

* **Format**: Round-robin where every team plays each other once
* **Advancement**: Top 8 teams progress to playoffs

  * Wins, Losses, Draws
  * Goals For (GF)
  * Goals Against (GA)
  * Goal Difference (GD)
  * Points (3 for win, 1 for draw, 0 for loss)

#### Stage 2: Playoffs

* **Participants**: Top 8 teams from pool round
* **Rounds**:
  * **Quarter Finals**: 8 teams → 4 teams
  * **Semi Finals**: 4 teams → 2 teams
  * **Final**: 2 teams → 1 winner
* **Prize**: Winner qualifies for World Championship Finals

*In the event of a tie in a playoff match during the qualifying series, the two teams will play again.*

* **Stage 1 – Group Stage**: Teams are split into groups of 4. Each team plays all others in its group. The top 2 in each group advance.
* **Stage 2 – Knockout Stage**: The remaining 16 teams play in a single-elimination bracket:
  * Round of 16
  * Quarterfinals
  * Semifinals
  * Final
  * Third place match for semifinal losers

*In the event of a tie in the Championship teams will play extra time, then penalties if still level.*

***Please note:** Blocking is not permitted in the Muzzle Run Football World Championship. If you have already secured a place in the tournament of 32, you can participate in the qualifier tournaments, but if you win, the highest ranked club that has not already qualified will progress. In the event of a tie in qualifying rounds the playoff round of 8 will re-run until there is a new qualifier.*
