Welcome to Season 3 of Muzzle Run Racing for Whippets and Greyhounds! This season continues to deliver the excitement of competitive racing with new structures, enhanced incentives, and earning opportunities for players at every level. Our goal is to deliver juicy prizes, heart pounding moments and reduce the workload for larger kennels. Whether you're racing Greyhounds for high stakes or Whippets for a simpler experience, there's something for everyone.
Season Start: January 6th 2025, 12:00 AM UTC
All class points are reset at the start of Season 3. Classes are structured to ensure competitive balance while maintaining progression opportunities:
Maiden: Hounds that have not won a race.
Group 3: Hounds with at least one win and fewer than 200 class points.
Group 2: Hounds with 200+ class points but not yet qualified for Group 1.
Group 1: Hounds that have won a ticket through Group 1 trials and are not relegated.
Every hound that qualifies for Group 1 throughout 2025 will be retired from the class system once the season completes. They can still compete in Open events.
Whippets now include a Group 1 qualification process, aligning their structure with Greyhounds.
No minimum race requirements for class-based tournaments.
Group 3 main events have been discontinued to maintain competitive prize pools and focus on higher classes.
Why are we removing the minimum monthly race requirement for Group 2? To ease the workload for players as the game ecosystem grows, making it more manageable for those with larger kennels playing multiple games.
Season 3 places greater emphasis on paid racing, providing faster progression opportunities for players:
Class Points:
No points deducted for finishing 4th–8th (Greyhounds) or 4th–6th (Whippets) in paid races.
1st–3rd places in paid races award double class points compared to free races.
Important! This includes Group 1 Muzzle League points used for relegation from Group 1
Season 3 adopts a stricter revenue allocation model to sustain long-term prize pools and adapt to the ecosystem's growth.
Revenue from minting Greyhound, Whippet (and any future hound specific) NFTS and training revenue is allocated as follows:
Greyhounds
10%: Group 1 Main Event (Riccarton Elite)
4%: Group 1 Muzzle League Paid Racing Leaderboard (monthly resets)
4%: Group 1 Muzzle League End of Quarter Tournament
2%: Group 1 End-of-Year Muzzle League Tournament
Whippets
5%: Group 1 Main Event (Whippet Elite)
2%: Group 1 Muzzle League Paid Racing Leaderboard (monthly resets)
2%: Group 1 Muzzle League End of Quarter Tournament
1%: End-of-Year Whippet Muzzle League Tournament
When: Last two days of every month.
Eligibility: Hounds with 200+ class points.
Revenue Allocation:
Greyhounds: 3% of app revenue.
Whippets: 2% of app revenue.
Group 1 is capped at 152 Greyhounds and 150 Whippets.
Bottom 30% of Group 1 hounds (based on Muzzle League points) are relegated monthly to Group 2.
Wild Card Tickets:
Issued as gifts in December.
No additional tickets will be distributed in Season 3.
31 Wild Card Tickets are currently in circulation and will reduce available Group 1 spots when played.
Classic tournaments continue to play a vital role in Season 3, targeting different player segments and fostering engagement and hype across all levels. For example:
Last Dance Tournament
Rhythm of the Night
George Hickman Cup
Struggle Street
5% of app revenue is allocated to these Featured Main Event prize pools running every month.
Building on the introduction of the Million Dollar Race in Season 2, the Satellite Series is expanding in Season 3:
Satellite Sit & Gos:
Offer smaller entry fees with prizes that reach conclusion more frequently.
Examples include tickets to real-world events like the World Series of Poker.
Some Satellites will be class based adding action to lower classes.
Throughout Season 3, we’re introducing Step 1 Fast Track Tournaments to help players advance further along the satellite ladder more quickly. These tournaments allow participants to skip certain steps, jumping ahead to higher-stakes races.
When: Replacing the Tuesday slot of the daily guaranteed tournaments each week.
Prize Structure: Guaranteed seats in future steps, with the number of awarded seats increasing based on total registrations.
Breeding Incentives:
Each breeding mint awards a satellite ticket usable in any Step 1 Sit & Go.
Includes all satellite types across Greyhounds and Whippets, not limited to the Million Dollar Race.
10% of breeding revenue is allocated to this incentive, supporting both Greyhound and Whippet ecosystems.
Entry into class tournaments (except Group 1) requires XP. Fees now start at 20 XP per entry and scale with stakes. Fees are subject to change throughout the year.
