Class System - Racers

Note: The class system is currently being trialed and is subject to change based on effectiveness and feedback

The Muzzle Run class system is designed for everyone to enjoy a competitive race experience regardless if they have a champion hound or just getting started. Hounds are currently grouped in to 4 different classes and progress through the first 3 classes based on their cumulative race performances. Group 1 hounds need to qualify by placing in a group 1 trial during the month. More on Group 1 trials below. As a hound progresses through the class system, the perks and earning potential for that hound increase.

Class Points

Class points are used to determine whether a hound runs in Group 2 or 3 after their first win (if they haven't qualified for Group 1). Every un-raced hound starts with 0 class points regardless of rarity or training. Points are awarded or deducted according to the hounds performance in every race based on the following finishing places:

  1. +10 points

  2. +10 points

  3. +10 points

  4. -10 points

  5. -10 points

  6. -10 points

  7. -1 point

  8. -1 point

Note: No hound can drop below 0 class points

Class System Resets

Once Yearly Reset: Every hound will start with zero class points at the beginning of each year. This reset ensures a level playing field, giving all participants an equal chance to race to the top.

Group 1 Stays Elite: Group 1 hounds are not affected by class points and maintain their elite status until relegated. The bottom 33%, ranked by monthly Muzzle League points, will face relegation.

Maiden

The Maiden class is for all hounds seeking their first win. A hound will immediately advance to Group 3 once they win a race. Maidens currently:

  • Funnel promising hounds who have shown some early success in to Group 3

  • Can qualify for tournaments

  • Can't enter paid races

Group 4

A hound qualifies to run Group 4 races when they have won their first race, are untrained and un-boosted are a Common rarity with a speed value not exceeding 92 and they've earned less than 1000 Matic in prize money. Class points do not determine whether a hound is in or out of Group 4, the above criteria is the only determination. Technically a hound can be eligible for Group 3 or Group 2 and still be able to run in Group 4 events. Group 4 hounds currently:

  • Can qualify for tournaments

  • Can enter paid races up to 600 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v 1 Races

  • Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 600 Froth

Group 3

A hound qualifies to run Group 3 races when they have won their first race and do not exceed the class point threshold for Group 2*. Group 3 hounds currently:

  • Can qualify for tournaments

  • Can enter paid races up to 600 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v1 Races

  • Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 600 Froth

Group 2

A hound qualifies to run Group 2 races when they've met the class point threshold* communicated by the Muzzle Run team at the time. Group 2 hounds currently:

  • Can qualify for tournaments

  • Can enter paid races up to 1200 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v 1 Races

  • Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 600 Froth

  • Can enter trials for Group 1 (see Group 1 below for more info on trials)

Group 1

The most prestigious class hosting the very top echelon of racers on Muzzle Run. A hound qualifies to run Group 1 races by placing in the promotion zone of a Group 1 trial event. Group 1 hounds currently:

  • Can qualify for tournaments

  • Are entered into an exclusive monthly Group 1 tournament automatically

  • Can enter paid races up to 1200 Froth and 5000 Froth for 1 v 1 Races.

  • Can enter paid Sit & Go's up to 1200 Froth

Once qualified Group 1 hounds remain in that class for the entire month. On the first of every month any hound that qualifies for Group 1 will be entered into the monthly Group 1 tournament. On the last day of every month, the bottom 10% of Group 1 hounds according to their monthly Muzzle League points are downgraded to their respective lower class allowing space for the next qualifiers to take their shot. Group 1 Stays Elite: Group 1 hounds are not affected by class points and maintain their elite status until relegated. The bottom 33%, ranked by their overall monthly Muzzle League points, will face relegation. Once relegated, Group 1 hounds can not run Group 1 again, they are effectively "retired" from the class system and are no longer eligible to run class-based races or events. However, they can enter Open events and races for all time.

Trials for Group 1 are open to all Group 2 hounds and will be held every month. These trials will be conducted in a Tournament format and participants will have the opportunity to compete for a prize pool. The number of hounds promoted to Group 1 after trials depends on the number of hounds relegated from Group 1 (See Muzzle League for further info)
